PARKING-E 1840S, Parking Sensor Kit for commercial
vans such as the Ford Transit, Mercedes Sprinter, Renault Trafic, Toyota Hiace,
Transit connect, Citroen Dispatch, Citroen Relay, VW Transporter, Fiat Doblo,
Citroen Berlingo, Vauxhall Vito, Vauxhall Combo and Vauxhall Astra van. The kit
contains:
A standard reverse parking sensor kit cannot be fitted to most commercial
vans because the bumper height is too low to mount the sensors. "Shield"
recessed sensors are recommended for
commercial vehicles as the sensors are designed to enable them to be fitted
lower to the ground. The shield sensors are also supplied with angled collars
enabling the sensors to be mounted in bumpers that angle towards the ground. "Shield" Sensors are recommended for
commercial vehicles.

System
Activation
When
reverse gear is engaged the rear sensors are automatically activated.
Wiring
and Installation
The
components are supplied pre-plugged and ready to install, with the exception of
the following two wires that must be connected to the vehicle:
Red
Wire - Connect to the Reversing light positive feed.
Black
Wire - Connect to a negative power supply (Ground/Car Body).
Notes regarding fitting Parking Sensors to
commercial vans:
(1) The rear bumper of commercial vans are
normally a lot lower to the ground than a standard hatchback or saloon so we
recommend fitting a kit with Shield ("S" Type) sensors.
(2) Only shield ("S" Type) sensors are recommended
for use in metal bumpers.
(3) When the hole is drilled in the bumper, the
bare metal must be treated with a suitable metal paint to prevent rust forming
around the sensor.
(4) If the van is fitted with a bulkhead then a
buzzer extension cable will be required to enable the buzzer to be positioned in
the cab. Part number 5MEXT.
