How do Parking Sensors work?

The Electronic Commerce Sales system is automatically activated when you engage reverse gear. Sensors are fixed to the rear of the vehicle, which send and receive ultrasonic radio waves that bounce off obstacles and alert you to their presence. There is an internal buzzer that gradually increases in frequency as you approach the object. A continuous tone denotes that you are within 0.35m (1ft) of the obstacle.

What does the kit consist of?

How easy is it to fit?

The system is pre-wired and ready to plug together, the rear only systems require just two connections to the vehicle (1) Reversing light (2) Earth. Models with digital display and combined front & rear kits take a little longer to fit. Click here to view the full installation instructions.

Do I need to drill any holes in my car?

No, not if you select the option for the Self Adhesive Sensors. However, if you want to recess the sensors into the rear bumper then you can select the Recessed Sensors that requires either a 20mm, 21mm or 22mm hole to be drilled into the bumper. The recessed sensors can be colour coded (spray painted) to match the vehicle. Click here for Sensor Options.

Do I need any special tools?

You will need either a 20mm or 22mm Drill Bit and Polishing Head to fit the Recessed Sensors, we can supply a fitting kit which can be ordered with your Parking Sensor Kit. You will also need a drill, pliers and a screwdriver set.
